Dancin’, Dancin’!

For Meg 4.23.10 (c) C. Quintana 2010

Today is a day for dancing! Jazz Fest began today and who’s going to let a little torrential downpour stop them from dancing? Besides, I was happily indoors and not on the muddy fair grounds on this stormy Friday afternoon.  Since roughly 3 PM I’ve had that semi-ridiculous Scissor Sisters song stuck in my head.  I’ll give you half of a guess because I think you’ll have gotten it by 1/4 of a guess. “I Don’t Feel like Dancin'” is the one. You were right. Except, Scissor Sisters, I do, I do! The really heart-wrenching part about getting this song stuck in your head is that I don’t think anyone on Earth (except maybe Miles Cooper) actually knows the blur of lyrics that follow, “Don’t feel like dancin,’ dancin’!”

Don’t feel like dancin’, dancin’
Even if I find nothin’ better to do
Don’t feel like dancin’, dancin’
Why’d you pick a tune when I’m not in the mood?
Don’t feel like dancin’, dancin’
I’d rather be home with the one in the bed till dawn, with you

I think we can all sleep better tonight knowing these lyrics.  You’re welcome.  Plus our Artistic Director discovered the name of the classic New Orleans song “Ooh Poo Pah Doo” by Jessie Hill.  Thankfully a small office dance party followed before everyone returned to their laptops.

How does this all relate to this postcard? Well, I’d say it’s a dance party of a postcard.  Wouldn’t you?
